Entrevistador

"Hi! Thanks for joining us. How are you doing today?"

"Hi, thanks for having me. I'm doing well, thanks. How about you?"

Entrevistador

"Doing great. So, before we get started, do you have any questions about the format?"

"No, I'm all set. I'm ready to begin whenever you are."

Esos primeros segundos importan.

"Tell me about yourself"

Entrevistador

"Great. So tell me a bit about yourself."

Tú (estructura presente → pasado → futuro, ~90 segundos)

"Sure. I'm currently a [tu rol] at [empresa actual], where I've spent the last [tiempo] focused on [áreas clave]. Before that, I worked at [empresa anterior], where I [logro principal o aprendizaje]. What I'm looking for now is a role where I can [conexión con el puesto al que aspiras] — and that's exactly why this opportunity caught my attention."

No empieces con "I was born in…".

Entrevistador

"Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult stakeholder."

Tú (estructura STAR)

"Sure. Last year at [empresa], we had a project where the client kept changing the requirements every week — Situation. My job was to deliver on time without scope creep — Task. So I scheduled a weekly 30-minute alignment call, where we reviewed any changes and explicitly tagged them as in-scope or out-of-scope, with cost implications — Action. The result was that we delivered on time, on budget, and the client renewed the contract for another year — Result."

Entrevistador

"Nice. And how did you handle the conversation when they asked for an out-of-scope change?"

"I'd frame it as a trade-off rather than a refusal. Something like 'we can absolutely add this — here's what it would cost in time and budget. Would you like to swap it for one of the existing items, or treat it as a change request?' That kept the relationship collaborative."

Preguntas sobre tus debilidades y motivación

Entrevistador

"What would you say is your biggest weakness?"

"Honestly, I tend to over-prepare for high-stakes presentations — I'll spend way more time than needed making sure every slide is perfect. I've been working on it by setting time boxes for each prep step, and forcing myself to ship at 80% rather than chasing 100%. It's helped me move faster while still keeping quality high."

Entrevistador

"And what made you apply to us specifically?"

"Two things. First, the work you're doing in [área específica] — I read [pieza concreta de contenido o producto] and it really resonated with how I think about [tema]. Second, the team. I had a great conversation with [nombre, si aplica] and the way you describe the culture matches what I'm looking for next."

Las respuestas SIEMPRE específicas. "I'm a hard worker" es genérico y no te diferencia.

Entrevistador

"Great. We have a few minutes left — do you have any questions for me?"

Tú (siempre tener 3-4 preparadas)

"Yes, definitely. First, what does success look like in this role in the first six months? Second, what are the biggest challenges the team is currently facing? And third, can you tell me a bit about how decisions get made here — is it more top-down or collaborative? Those are the main ones."

Entrevistador

"Those are great questions. Let me start with the first one…"

Cierre

Entrevistador

"OK, I think we're running out of time. We'll be in touch within a week with next steps."

"Thank you so much for your time. I really enjoyed the conversation, and I'm even more excited about this opportunity after talking with you. I look forward to hearing back."

Empezar "tell me about yourself" con dónde naciste o tu vida personal. Empieza con el rol actual.
Hablar mal de tu jefe o empresa actual. Aunque sea verdad. Marco siempre positivo.
Decir "I don't have any questions" al final. Pierdes muchísimo. Siempre 3-4 preparadas.
Respuestas demasiado cortas ("yes", "no"). Pierdes la oportunidad de mostrar quién eres.
Memorizar palabra por palabra. Suena artificial.
